There is a great deal of history that came before the formation of the NGBA, and there are hundreds of stories that are yet to be told. This story is one of those story, told with the words of the first and only female coach to win a Gay Games Gold medal with a gay men’s team. This story is not close to being a complete story, but it will give you an idea of what is was like through a 30 year journey for one LGBT+ basketball family and Lambda Basketball League of Southern California.
