SUCCESS FROM THE START

The NGBA was formed to bring organization and baseline standards to the LGBTQ+ basketball community. From 2002 to 2006 the NGBA promoted the future path of LGBTQ+ basketball, and that path started to shine at the 2006 Gay Games in Chicago.

Many LGBTQ basketball programs were created during the first five years of NGBA's existence. NGBA provided help to players to start programs in their own cities while other players took the initiative to start leagues on their own.

CITY LEAGUES

City leagues keep the NGBA going. The work done by local leaders cannot be appreciated enough. Without these leaders, NGBA would not be able to welcome new members tournament after tournament.
