Timing of Games
- Two twenty (20) minute halves
- Continuously running clock except for:
- Timeouts called by either team or the referees
- Stoppage of play due to injury
- Game Clock will stop on all made baskets, violations, and/or fouls in the last two (2) minutes of regulation in the 2nd half and last one (1) minute of overtime when teams are within 12 points
- A division and B division Semi-Finals and Finals games are fully timed, stopped clock
- Overtime periods:
- First overtime period will be for a total of three (3) minutes with a continuously running clock except for the last one (1) minute of the period
- Subsequent overtime periods will be for a total of one (1) minute. Game Clock will stop on all made baskets, violations, and/or fouls
○ A division and B division Semi-Finals and Finals overtime periods are fully timed, stopped clock
Time-Outs
- Each team will be allocated two (2) – 45 second- timeouts per half with no carry over
- Each team will be allocated one (1) – 45 second- timeout for each overtime period with no carry over
- Teams may advance the ball to mid court after a timeout in the last two minutes of regulation and last minute of any overtime periods
Fouls
- A player who obtains their SIXTH (6th) foul during the course of the game will be eliminated from further play during that game
- All technical fouls will count as a personal foul
- Two technical fouls in one game will disqualify a player
Free Throws
- The number of players allowed to line up for Free Throws: 2 offensive, 4 defensive
- One-and-one bonus free throw will be awarded when a team is assessed its seventh (7) and two (2) free throws on the tenth (10) subsequent team foul per half (Team fouls will include all personal and technical fouls)
- Team fouls carry over into overtime
- Two (2) free throws will be awarded for all technical fouls. The game will continue from
the point of interruption
Technical Fouls, Unsportsmanlike Conduct, Ejections
- Technical Fouls will be assessed for the following:
- Flagrant fouls
- Abusive language or unsportsmanlike conduct towards a referee, tournament organizer, team member, or opposing team member
- Slamming the ball or throwing other equipment
- Ejection from the game will result from the following:
Forfeits
- Games will start at the later of: scheduled game time or 5 minutes immediately following the conclusion of the previous game. Teams must have a minimum of four (4) players to begin a game. If a team doesn’t have 4 players at the scheduled start, the clock will run, for every minute that runs off the clock the opposing team receives 2 points. Any game cannot continue with less than four (4) players.
Additional Rules
- Three-Point Field Goal Distance: 6.75m
- There will be a jump ball to start the game and to start any overtime periods
- Possession: There will be NO jump balls. “Arrow of possession” will be in operation
- Captains are responsible for team communication with referees, including dispute resolution
