Can you remember your very first game with an LGBTQ+ team? How did it go, and what do you remember most about it?
Very first game was with SoCal Jurassics in Portland 2023. I remember being a bit nervous as I had only met 2 of the players before, and didn’t know what to expect. As a team we didn’t play well, but it was still a good experience.
What's your favorite memory from any of the LGBTQ+ basketball tournaments you've participated in?
Winning the Gay Games in Guadalajara, Mexico 2023.
What’s your pre-game ritual or superstition that you always follow before hitting the court?
No superstitions. No pre-game rituals. Just some gum and a small shot to warm me up and relax me lol
How has being part of the LGBTQ+ basketball community impacted your life off the court?
It’s definitely provided me with another family of like minded gays that also enjoy sports and play at a high level.
What's one piece of advice you would give to young LGBTQ+ athletes just starting out in their basketball journey?
Be yourself. Find a local league that supports you.
